• Code of Procedures on Recruitment and Selection Formulating a Code of Procedures on Recruitment and Selection which sets out good practice in recruitment and selection for councils and providing advice to councils on implementing the Code of Procedures.

• Observers Sending Observers to panels for senior posts in councils and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) to ensure that the Code of Procedures on Recruitment and Selection is being implemented.

• Advice and support on equality of opportunity issues Providing equality of opportunity advice and support services to councils and the NIHE on any equality of opportunity queries.

• Model human resource policies and procedures Preparing model human resource policies and procedures for the councils, as required. Examples of these include a harassment policy and procedure and an equal opportunities policy.

• Equality network Facilitating a network of Equality Officers in councils and the NIHE. For details about the next meeting of the Equality Network go to the Events section

• Statutory duty advice and assistance Facilitating a Statutory Duty Network for councils and the NIHE and providing advice and support to them in order to assist them to implement the statutory duties.
