PUTTING COMMUNICATION ON THE RPA AGENDA

WEDNESDAY 14 JUNE 2006

AT THE STORMONT HOTEL, BELFAST

The event, held on 14 June 2006, was facilitated by the Local Government Staff Commission in partnership with the Executive Information Service, Belfast City Council, the DHSSPS, the Department for Education and other key stakeholders.

Communication was examined from different perspectives to assist people with responsibility for RPA communication to:

  • Promote a clear, shared understanding of the change process
  • Gain commitment to the change process
  • Minimise misunderstanding and misinformation
  • Improve knowledge and understanding of the proposed approach to RPA implementation, both in particular teams and in relation to organisations as a whole.

The Conference was very opportune given the need to develop strategies that ensure timely, consistent and relevant information reaches all staff affected by the RPA.

The delegates for the Conference included chief executives and senior managers, throughout the public sector, with responsibility for RPA communication.
