Sexual Orientation Discrimination in NI: The Law and Good Practice

Commission House 18-22 Gordon Street Belfast BT1 2LGYou will be aware that the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations (NI) 2003 came into effect in NI on 2 December 2003. The Equality Commission has produced a draft guide entitled 'Sexual Orientation Discrimination in NI: The Law and Good Practice'. The Equality Commission are currently consulting on this guide - the consultation period closes on 16 February 2004. Roisin Mallon from the Equality Commission will speak at a short seminar (10.30am to 12 noon) on Tuesday 3 February 2004 in Commission House to outline the contents of the guide and answer questions. Councils could then provide feedback which we could draw together into a joint response from the district councils. This seminar is aimed at EQUALITY NETWORK and STATUTORY DUTY NETWORK members.
