Community Cohesion and Integration - Friday 20 June 2008 20th June 2008 at 10:30 AM until 20th June 2008 at 1:00 PM Location: Magherafelt District Council Offices, 50 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt The next few years will present many challenges for those involved in delivering public services at local level. The creation of 11 new local government organisations and the introduction of a council led community planning process will have major implications, not just for local government managers but for all public managers representing the wide range of functions and services administered and delivered locally.
Against this background and evolving policy agenda, the Local Government Staff Commission in co-operation with SOLACE NI and the Chief Executive's Forum is organising a series of workshops that will examine some of the issues involved and, more generally, ways in which local managers representing different agencies can better work together to achieve better outcomes for the communities they serve.
This second workshop entitled 'Community Cohesion and Integration' will consider how local areas can best improve equality of opportunity and cohesion whilst faced with the many and diverse needs of our local communities.
The workshop will address this theme through a number of practical, interactive contributions.
