EFFECTIVELY MANAGING STRESS

For more and more people, feeling stressed is an increasingly accepted reality of modern living.  Stress or more correctly distress has major consequences for organisations, teams and individuals.  Consequences can include increased absenteeism, reduced productivity, lower morale and higher turnover and possibly increasing prevalence of errors and reduced quality of work output.

While accepting stress is an unavoidable part of modern living and work, there are ways of managing stress more effectively so that people do not become distressed.  The Aim of this one day Programme is to 'Increase participant's understanding of stress and distress, its origins and manifestations, while also providing a range of tools and techniques which can help participants to more effectively deal with and manage stress'.

Who is this one-day programme aimed at?

This programme is suitable for:

  • Individuals who may want to understand stress from an organisation/team perspective and what organisations/teams can and should be doing to support staff in dealing with the everyday stresses of work.
  • Individuals who may be experiencing stress/distress themselves and who may want to increase their understanding of stress, including some practical techniques and tools to help them deal more effectively with stressors.
  • A combination of both of the above.

Points of note for the participants!

Participants will be expected to complete a Stress Log for at least two weeks prior to the workshop to identify, specify and quantify their most commonly occurring 'stressors'.

Participants will also be required to complete a Stress Self Assessment Questionnaire and complete a single page preparatory sheet prior to the Workshop.  While this is minimal in nature, it is important that participants understand and work to meet this expectation.
