Accredited Sign Language - Monday 6 October - Thursday 6 November 2008

Cost: £120 Other Information: This five-week block of four hours per week is aimed at those who have already completed the Introduction to BSL for Front Line Staff. This further training will provide participants with an accredited qualification in basic sign language by the Open College Network (OCN). The training is aimed at reception staff in council administrative offices, in leisure and community centres and also staff who deal with the public such as Registrars.
SESSION DATES:
This course will run for five weeks for two hours on each of the dates below:
- Monday 6 and Thursday 9 October
- Monday 13 and Thursday 16 October
- Monday 20 and Thursday 23 October
- Monday 27 and Thursday 30 October
- Monday 3 and Thursday 6 November
The course will be delivered by a Deaf Teacher and will introduce front-line staff to basic BSL vocabulary signs. It will teach words and phrases that are commonly used in your council and the training and vocabulary will be tailored to meet the needs of delegates attending the course.
Bookings should be made online by the TLO, or someone authorised by the TLO.

Cancellation Policy:
Substitutions may be made at any time, but please give as much notice as possible. In the event of a cancellation notified between two weeks and one week before the start of a course, a charge of £120 will be levied. For a cancellation less than one week before the start of a course, or a nominee's failure to attend a course, a cancellation fee of £240 will be charged to councils. No charge will be levied if a cancelled place is filled from a reserve list.
