Revised Code of Procedures on Recruitment and Selection

 

Paper on the Outcomes from the Consultation Process and Related Commission Decisions

 

The current Code of Procedures on Recruitment and Selection is based on the involvement of the Commission throughout the recruitment process, which will no longer be possible when the Commission is dissolved in March 2017 (based on a recommendation from the Minister of the Environment and agreed by the NI Executive in June 2014).  The Commission are of the view that it would be useful to put in place a Code of Procedures which they could recommend to councils prior to the dissolution and which could be owned and managed by councils.

Between February and June 2016, the Commission consulted on a revised Code of Procedures on Recruitment and Selection, which will be effective when the Commission is dissolved.

Ten responses were received from:

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council

Ards and North Down Borough Council

Belfast City Council

Derry City and Strabane District Council

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council

Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council

Mid and East Antrim Borough Council

Newry Mourne and Down District Council

Equality Commission for Northern Ireland

NIPSA

The Commission considered all the responses received and this paper outlines the outcomes from the consultation process, and the related Commission decisions.
