The Commission strives to ensure that local government sustains flexible, ‘fit for purpose’ organisations which can respond to change and meet customer needs in an atmosphere of continuous improvement by:

Assisting district councils with the staffing implications of organisation design, development and change
Researching and promoting Organisational Development (OD) tools and techniques in local government, particularly to support preparations for RPA implementation
Assisting councils to develop actions and initiatives to reduce employee sickness and promote health and well being
Promoting a system of performance management for local government
Partnering the Local Government Management Services Board (LGMSB) to promote best practice examples of change management
